Stillness means something’s wrong.
Animals go quiet before trouble hits.
So do people.

You feel danger before you see it.
A shift in the air.
A pause in someone’s voice.
A look you weren’t supposed to catch.
Not everyone who smiles is friendly — and not everyone who growls is a threat.
The real predators blend in.
The real protectors don’t announce themselves.
Those were the rules long before I knew they were rules.
